Hello and Kia ora!

One girl and a dress started off with a handful of preloved vintage dresses found at the local op shop. While hunting for treasures, it was obvious that clothing wasn’t the only thing that needed a new loving home!

Our Story

This is where a 3rd generation overlocker and as sewing machine were adopted and the process of ‘creating’ started. Here at one girl and a dress, there are no patterns. Every item is self drafted and the design chosen based on the fabric sourced. You can rest assured that your item is truely unique.

As a small business owner I have many hats. I’m the textile gatherer, designer, cutter, maker, packer, website builder, photographer and clothes horse. I love your feedback and value your questions. I want you to love the one girl items that you receive and when you no longer reach for them, I hope you will look at ways to rehome or rework to do your bit for our world.
